Oliver and I were sitting down to our stacks of pancakes at the breakfast table a few days ago when Scout (our Weimaraner) started scratching at the back door to let us know she wanted to join us inside.

I started to stand up when Oliver stopped me saying, "Mommy, don't get up! I'll take care of it!" and proceeded to leave his own plate of pancakes to let Scout inside for me.

Chivalry is not dead, folks. Even for three year olds! Or, at least for three-year-olds whose daddies take great care of their pregnant mommies!

Thanks for setting a good example, honey!

And now, if Scout could just grow some opposable thumbs and learn to let herself in...

that is aDORABLE!!! I JUST found your blog from McMamma's blog and I LOVE it. Your family sounds like my family. If we lived in TN, we could be good friends. :) I have a friend in Franklin and she says it's awesome! My husband also does graphic design, currently working for Smartwool, but loves that kind of creativity. Loved reading your recent post about entertaining your 3 year old with arrows. My daughter Kayla would LOVE doing this craft. We will have to try. :) I look forward to reading your blog more!!! thanks for posting!

Nothing more priceless than a father who is a good example...and a little son who follows it!

PS I think the idea of our black boxer/lab learning to let himself in/out too...would save me a lot of getting up in the night :)

just found your blog (from MckMama's), and have enjoyed reading through some of it. What a testimony of faith and grace you have! And a beautiful home - and such fun craft/sewing projects!
I smiled when I saw your new baby's name... I LOVE the name Wren. We named our second baby Amelia Wren, and we call her Little Bird sometimes. We live in SC, and have the sweetest little Carolina Wrens that make nests on our porch. Anyway - it's a sweet name! :)
