$4

Some weeks are better than others. This was sort of a rough week, so it's no surprise that Saturday morning followed suit.

(Wow, I just reread that and realized that I totally sound like Debbie Downer!)

Let me start over.

I've been sick with a terrible cold since about Wednesday. You know the drill, tired, coughing, no voice, head about to explode, you get my drift. So even this morning I wasn't feeling much like bargain hunting. But, the good news is, I managed to turn up three happy finds for only $4. It wasn't a high roller day, but these little finds sure did make me feel a bit better!

Wanna see?

$1 - A blue twin sheet set. I'm sure you can guess what I plan to do with these! And, let it be writ, I plan to write all about my rag rug with details about how you can make your own none other than TOMORROW! Even if it's not finished by then, I'll share what I have!

$1 - 2 beautiful, very old waist aprons. I think I'll give one to my sister. Just for love. (The apron that is pictured is the one I'm keeping!)

And, my tuck-and-run find of the day:

$2 - This lovely skirt. I plan to wear it to church tomorrow! It makes me very happy!

And, now, I'd like to begin a new Saturday morning tradition. I really love following all the links you leave, getting to know you all and seeing what great finds you, well, find! Last Saturday I read through all your purchases, and while there were some fantastic bargains, I would like to announce the very first...

Bargain of the Week!

This week, the Gypsy Mamma found a sand box boat for $20!! Now, since I forgot to ask her permission to copy and use the photo, you'll have to follow this link to see it for yourself. Talk about tuck-and-run!!

Congratulations, Lisa-Jo!

Oh, and one more thing before Mr. Linky. I just wanted to show you what I'm doing with that long wooden candle holder I found a few weeks ago for $1.00.

Isn't that lovely?

Pottery Barn was selling these yellow candles on sale for $3.99 apiece today (they smell phenomenal!), and the place mat was also $3.99 at PB. Not necessarily garage sale prices, but a nice bargain nonetheless. You do know how I feel about the 2009 Pantone Color of the Year, don't you?

Okay, on to Mr. Linky. I'm looking forward to reading about your finds (I hope you haven't given up on me because I'm posting this at 6:30pm!) and picking a next week's "Bargain of the Week"!

I stummbled upon your blog and I love your garage sale finds! I live in a tiny little town with few sales to get to so I love to see what you come up with. My sister-in-law called me this morning to say that she found me a glider rocker with an ottoman(sp?) for $10! She knew the brand and said it is close to $300 new. I love glider rockers and since having our little one 5 months ago I have wanted one and wanted one. Pretty fun. Thanks to her and you I get to still enjoy garage sales. :) Have a blessed day.

Wow - thanks for the props, Raechel! That little sandboat just sailed right in and stole both my sons' hearts right along with mine! And we have put it to good using playing pirates, john deere farmers, and shivering our timbers all week long! Here's to many happy finds in the future!

This was my week of finds! I think you sent the good luck vibes north.

I guess I thought you meant "Can I put you on Mr. Linky?" But if you meant something else, then certainly, link away. Whatever you want.

Christine - No, that's what I meant! I just knew you'd posted earlier today, before I had my post up. Thanks!

I love the setting with the candles and the mat. It looks great!

And no, I'm not in the middle of TN; I'm in southern CA. However, if I could have, I probably would have purchased that box of hangers too!

I'm so excited to see my new apron. I think I got sick from you, so I don't think I will go to church this morning. But if Caleb's takes care of Oliver, could Ryan help you with the directory?

Lately we know when Bea is awake because she lays on the floor by her door and kicks. She's a lady.

So bummed that I've not been able to get out "saleing" for the past two weekends and with the big ol' red, white & blue holiday coming up this weekend I doubt I'll be making any bargain finds soon. My sissy had her first baby on Thursday and so I have spend the last three days with them. I'm in so much love with my new neice - Louise "Lulu" Mary! I'm hoping to get up some pics on my blog tonight. You'll have to check her out!

Hi there, just found your blog recently through MckMama's...and am loving reading through your garage sale finds. I went sale-ing yesterday and as I was just turning down the street to my house after shopping, I saw an impromptu sign that our neighborhood Montessori school was having a fundraising sale....alas, most of the stuff there was "regular people things"/aka "donations from parents"....but I did snag two boxes of lovely Montessori sandpaper letters! We homeschool and I have been wanting to purchase these online but they are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. I bought the cursive alphabet and a box of letter blends for a grand total of $11! Woot!

Good gracious! I emailed you a few weeks ago, just to tell you that you have a new reader, and in your reply, you asked if I'm into yard sales. The answer, generally, is no. I grew up in a very rural area, and I've always thought of yard sales as a neighborhood sort of thing. There was no neighborhood where I grew up. So I never caught the bug. BUT, the last few Saturdays of your blog, as well as the linked contributions, are starting to change my mind. I'm not yet converted, but I'm starting to see the appeal! Thanks to you, and those who link to their blogs. Happy bargain hunting!

Get well soon! Great finds!

I love looking at what you find in yardsales every week because I just never find anything! Maybe I just do not have a good yardsaling area?

I just came accross you blog recently and I love it! I absolutely love seeing what you find at yard sales. I've only been out a couple times so far this year and haven't had too much luck, but after seeing all the great things you find (and those who link) I'm encouraged to keep looking! Thanks!

I love the apron! I've been in hot pursuit of a full apron myself - if I can't find a cute vintage one at a yard sale I'm going to have to break down and make one out of some vintage-y fabric I've picked up in the past!
Love your blog!
