13 December 2008

We are officially twelve days from Christmas and I think it's an appropriate time to have a little Christmas contest!

Here are the rules:
  • Answer as many of the questions you can by leaving them as a comment on this post.
  • For fairness and fun, please do not use any resources except for your own memory (or the memory of the person in the room with you...). This means no internet searches, though scrolling through my blog is permitted. (But no looking at each other's answers-I'm hiding all comments until after the contest is over!)
  • All answers must be submitted by midnight Monday, the 15th of December.
  • The winner will be determined by, of course, whoever has the most answers correct. If there is a tie, it will go to the person who commented first.
  • And, the prize! An advent and Christmas staple! Written by Gregory Wilbur and George Grant, "Christmas Spirit: The Joyous Stories, Carols, Feasts, and Traditions of the Season" shipped right to your house in time for Christmas.
All because I am grateful to you all for loving our family and for your interest in the little things of our lives. Thank you for your encouragement and friendship this year. We are grateful for you all and wish we could send a gift to each of you! Instead, have a fun time testing your Christmas and Myers trivia memory! Best wishes to you all!

  12. The Preacher's Wife is a remake of what 1947 Christmas classic?
  13. Name one thing that I was thankful for on Thanksgiving day this year.

  16. What are the traditional colors of the candles on an advent wreath?
  17. What color of hat did I wear to the Lessons and Carols in Sewanee, TN? (which, by the way, Ryan had wrapped up on the dining room table for me that morning as an "I love you and we're going to have a great day" gift!)
  18. What did George and Mary Bailey call "our song" in It's a Wonderful Life?
  19. How many months did the top half our living room remain unpainted?
  20. What did Mrs. Claus keep telling Santa Claus to do in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer?
  21. What is the name of the photographer who was with us for Evie's birth, and also did our fall photos in October?
  22. In the carol "I saw Three Ships" what landlocked city did the ship sail to?
  23. Whose blog is my inspiration for "Not Me Mondays"?
  24. What were the names of the female entertaining team in White Christmas?
  25. And the bonus: What fast food restaurant does the Myers family traditionally patronize following the Christmas Eve Service on December 24th. (this is not in my blog)
Woohoo! I'm so excited to see your answers!

okay, I have never commented before on your blog, Rae. So I actually feel sort of bad doing it now since it is for a contest. Therefore, I vow to comment again on another post in the near future. I was only born 8 months before christmas in '85. 4) Happy Christmas. 5) no clue 6) Potterville. 7) no clue. 8) two things stolen from williams sinoma's menu. 9)- 10) - 11) Autobots. 12) wow, I am really bad at christmas media I guess. 13) Hope. 14) Tchaikovsky (my fav) 15) snow and snowball. 16) purple and pink. 17) red. 18) something about a moon?? 19) many. 20) stop eating cookies? 21) claire. 22) - 23) MckMama. 24)Hanyes Sisters. 25) wendys. okay so that wasn't a very good showing.
